An Auditable Plan to Retire the Public Debt It is irresponsible for Congress to continue adding to the public debt that neither we nor our children will ever be able to retire. As of March 28, 2009, the public debt was over over $11 trillion. That is 11 million million dollars. No entity, whether it be a company or family, can survive financially while doing this. Much less a country. This practice has to stop. We did not get into this mess overnight, and we will not get out overnight. So Congress needs to provide a publicized, realistic plan to retire this debt over the next 20 years. We will push back until they do. Expected date of completion: the end of 2029 |
